Traveling for the Holidays? What to pack is the question....

Ok so my family may be a bit nuts at Christmas but we travel...here and there some day trips, others over night.  We usually travel the expanse of our state from one side to the other. This year will be no exception for us.  Soooo how in the world do you pack for yourself, still look cute but not take your WHOLE closet with you when you might be, doing something semi formal, or lounging around the house, or playing in the snow, or going swimming.  Yes, we will be doing some swimming this Christmas as well as sledding;)  So..my quandry is how to pack for all of it and fit it in one suitcase.  My solution is picking versatile pieces.  A cardigan that can be either dressed up or down.  Leggings that can be for lounge or paired with knee high boots if you are going out.  So here are some suggestions for this winter's traveling....if not for that...maybe for your Christmas list!!!

Option One...

fLuXuS Bloom Wrap in Black
$128 - revolveclothing.com
Black tops »

Comet's Trail Tank
$30 - anthropologie.com
Tiered tank »

Women's Merona
$40 - target.com

Pilcro Slim Straight
reviews.anthropologie.com

In this pairing, I used an easy strait leg blue jean with a layered tank.  The boots are an inexpensive option from Target.  You could easily pair the jeans and boots with other options like  a bulky sweater or something more fancy like a sequenced tank.

Option #2

All Angles Blouse
$128 - anthropologie.com
Dolman sleeve tops »

Pants
$88 - anthropologie.com

Tassels Away Boots
$258 - anthropologie.com
High heel booties »

all black island charm
$89 - shoostore.com
All black shoes »

Tod's 'T Bag' Media Tote
bagborroworsteal.com
Tods handbag »

Option #2 is a pair of black leggings/pants or Jeans combined with a patterned blouse.  The option of boots or flats is up to you...I will probably pack both as the flats take up no room and are so comfy for knocking around the house.  A simple bag will go with anything and combining it with a wool coat which can be casual or dressy eliminates the need to pack more than one option.  I will need my snow gear regardless...

I love having my long hair back. I think it gives me more options to play with and a girl on a budget loves having options that don't cost me anything. A messy bun or the addition of a head band gives instant elegance with out breaking the bank.  I have some elastic headbands from Goodie that are super skinny in a variety of colors...they hold my hair well and look nice too.  Easy to pack as they are like an over sized rubber band and you won't cry if you leave it in a hotel room:)

Ok now for Comfy by the fire....and a few of my favorite things.
Make-up...you can spend a small fortune on make up.  I have tried the expensive stuff... infact I have a drawer full of it...but my Favorite stuff....Revlon Colorstay Eyeshaddow...actually stays all day with out caking, or gunking up (technical terms) and Covergirl All day wear lip color's.  Revelon is a bit sticky in this lip stick...so covergirl has them beat.  I tried an all day lipstick from MAC called pro longwear....not even close to being as good as either the Revelon or the Cover Girl and it will save you a few bucks.  Cover Girl & Revlon...between $7- and  $9- MAC...$16-.  The MAC went back.

So...here is some options for packing....or your wish list for Christmas. I don't own uggs however they are on my wish list!  Enjoy the Holidays and Merry Christmas!
